Proficiency testing involves the evaluation of various laboratories/ analytical testing providers’ performances against pre-established criteria by means of inter-laboratory comparisons

Our goal is to act as a leading organization tasked with the development and operation of an efficient proficiency testing program to:

1. Evaluate laboratories’ performances
2. Ensure effective sample delivery and evaluation mediated by laboratories
3. Generation of statistical evaluations on submitted analytical results with coherent feedback to laboratories

These testing programs involve the distribution of sub-samples of a material for testing by participating laboratories. The results are analyzed statistically with each laboratory receiving a report detailing its testing performance. National accreditation bodies rely on the results of the proficiency testing data to monitor the competence of their own accredited laboratories.

How are the results analyzed?

In proficiency testing programs, the evaluation of a laboratory’s performance is mediated based on a comparison to reference values or values calculated from the results submitted. PT-Gamma uses various statistical procedures typically based on the internationally accepted method of calculating z-scores, t-tests and more. Variation of results both within a laboratory and between laboratories are also assessed and tabulated.

Following any of our offered proficiency testing programs, PT-Gamma provides both a proficiency testing report and a certificate of participation at the completion of the program. The proficiency testing report contains the results reported by the participants, outcomes of the statistical analyses, graphical presentations of the data and comments on overall performance. At the completion of the program, upon registration of the analytical results, an automatic certificate of participation report is generated via the dashboard outlining the registration details of the participant, date of registration, and testing program registered for along with their registered analytical results. Following 5-7 business days, a proficiency test report will be uploaded for each participant’s accessibility wherein an evaluation of their performance and statistical information will be reported.
